Buying a KIA Car? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you are looking to buy a new car, a KIA Car may be a great option. The Kia Corporation is a multinational automobile manufacturer based in Seoul, South Korea. It is the second largest manufacturer of automobiles in South Korea behind Hyundai Motor Company. It sold approximately 2.8 million cars in 2019 alone. Unlike its Korean rivals, the Kia brand is available in many different styles, colors, and trim levels.

2018

The 2018 KIA Car is no longer a budget brand, with several models standing toe-to-toe with the best in their class. From the subcompact Soul to the spacious three-row Telluride, Kia now offers a full range of vehicles, from compact Sportage to midsize Sorento to the new Carnival MPV (which replaces the Sedona minivan).

The Kia Sportage offers a host of premium options in a charming, roomy interior. The base LX trim comes standard with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Lower-level trims get an 181-hp inline-four. The turbocharged version is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Sportage comes in both front and all-wheel drive.

2017

The 2017 KIA Car comes with a range of standard and optional features, including the Kia Uvo telematics suite, which provides roadside assistance, speed monitoring, and stolen vehicle tracking. The suite can be used for emergency services and vehicle diagnostics, and can even help you find the right parking space. It’s also available in the LX trim, and comes with a touchscreen display, Bluetooth, and Auxiliary and USB inputs.

The 2017 Optima sedan features stellar good looks and an impressive lineup of standard features. The sedan comes in hybrid and plug-in hybrid trims, and offers a 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty. The Optima, however, doesn’t offer the most advanced driver-assist technology, even on the base trim. Fortunately, the Subaru Legacy comes standard with all-wheel drive and a number of other standard features.

2016

The 2016 KIA Car comes in a few trim levels and offers plenty of features. The Optima, for example, is a front-wheel-drive sedan. It has a standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that puts out 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The Optima also comes with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission. A standard backup camera is included, as well as a GPS system that shows occupant location. The 2016 Optima LX model has a standard power lumbar support for the driver and a height-adjustable passenger seat.

The steering was another source of frustration with this model. While it was relatively accurate, it was a bit numb, causing the car to track straight even on long freeways. The weight would shift off-center during a steering wheel spin – the worst sign of unreliable steering. Nonetheless, the Optima is an attractive, well-rounded car for the price. But, if you’re looking for a smooth ride, the 2016 Kia Car is not for you.

2015

The 2015 Kia Car lineup includes two subcompact crossovers, a minivan, and five cars. Some have been redesigned, while others have received midcycle facelifts. Two models are completely redesigned for the 2015 model year, including the Kia Soul crossover and Optima family. The Kia Forte family is a new addition to the lineup for 2015.

Its cabin resembles the Lexus LS460L, and is extremely quiet at 70 mph. Kia’s parent company, Hyundai, makes many of Kia’s vehicles, including the K900. The K900’s impressive warranty and nicely finished interior make it a great value. Its powertrain has been updated since its introduction, too, but the overall value remains high. The 2015 Kia Car lineup will be available for purchase later this year.

2014

If you’re looking for a new car, you might want to consider the 2014 KIA Car. The new Optima sedan comes with several exciting features, including advanced safety systems and a hybrid engine. The entry-level version has a 2.4-liter direct-injection engine with 200 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque. You can also opt for the 2.0-liter direct-injected turbo engine with 274 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. There’s even a hybrid version that’s capable of more power and torque.

The 2014 Kia Forte is available in both a 5-door hatchback and 2-door Forte Koup. The brand has also unveiled a new TV commercial starring a robotic octopus. Other notable new models include the Kia Rio, a subcompact sedan that’s available in a 5-door hatchback and 4-door sedan. Kia continues to improve its lineup of vehicles and is creeping into the luxury segment. For example, the new Forte has optional heated seats, push-button start, and a standard infotainment system with smartphone connectivity. The Optima is another excellent option, and features a brushed metal exterior trim and an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation.
